The NBS-SCS Student Chapter was launched on 22 September 2004 with the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Nanyang Business School's (NBS) Executive Vice Dean, Professor Gillian Yeo and Singapore Computer Society's (SCS) President, Mr Lee Kwok Cheong (KC). The brainchild of the NBS Information Technology (IT) and Operations Management department, NBS-SCS Student Chapter strives to promote IT knowledge within our members thus allowing them to become well rounded Information System (IS) professionals.
NBS-SCS Student Chapter understands that today’s markets are rapidly evolving. Hence, we recognize a need to keep our students up to date with the latest technological advancements as well as the impacts they can make on the market. NBS-SCS Student Chapter is committed to informing and educating our members on latest IT trends which will allow them to make informed decisions on their career development. We also link our members to the IS Professionals out there in the marketplace who will help our members in their career developments as well.
The committee is currently in its sixth term and comprises of final year undergraduates from the Business IT major. Our members are made up of all undergraduates from the Business/Accoutancy IT major as well as double degree students studying Business and Computing.

To broadcast IT information, educate students and support improvements within the Business/Accountancy IT major so as to make a positive difference in our students’ lives and evolve as the major of choice for all. We are committed to provide a channel for our students to network with IS professionals and allow them to make informed decisions as they transit from studies to employment. We aim to create efficient learning platforms to inspire students to explore and develop IT skills that are essential in their career developments.
